I have been loving watching HBO's series Euphoria which I came upon by seeing other beauty gurus recreate makeup looks from that series. It's about a group of teenagers dealing with issues like sex, drugs and violence. But the best visual part about it, is the makeup. It features fun, whimsical, party and sometimes graphic makeup looks that make you want to go back to high school. I would say that there are three reoccurring themes with makeup - graphic colors, glitter and rhinestones. I too wanted to create a version of makeup inspired by one of Maddy's looks from that series.
Everyone in the series has a very natural brow. Forget about Instagram boxy brows, it's more brushed up and natural looking. I used eyebrow marker type of product to draw in some individual brow hairs where I'm missing it. Then I brushed them up and that was it.
For my eye makeup I used medium mauve shade to add a tiny bit of definition to my crease, but barely there. Then I mixed a few purple powder eyeshadows and started drawing a wing. I started with the inner corner and then as I went more towards the inner part, I switched to a brighter purple and sort of blended it out in about two thirds in. It's almost a fade out liner on the inner part. I wanted glossy and ethereal looking lid, so I used shimmery, almost a bit sheer eyeshadow, which reflects purple and blue light and looks almost glossy. I left inner corners untouched. On the lower lash line I used the same mauve and a bit of redish purple to define it.
I then applied mascara and false lashes. My favorite part was adding nail rhinestones, because it made the whole look so much more fun. I applied them with a Tweezer and eyelash glue.
On my face I used a mix of foundation and BB cream, concealer and pressed powder to create an even base. Because the eyes are so shiny, I left the rest of my face pretty matte. I applied a bit of contour under my cheek bones and bronzer on my higher parts of the face. For the blush I used brownish pink to give my face a bit of color.
Maddy usually wears some sort of lip liner mixed with lip gloss, so I did that too. I used grey toned liner to outline my lips and then applied brown and shimmery lip gloss on top of it. You get a very gloss, but defined lip.
I wouldn't say this is your office look - obviously, but it's appropriate for themed parties or festivals. I personally loved how it turned out, even if I didn't have anywhere to wear it. Any change to my usual makeup routine always inspires me and creating this look was so much fun..
