These donations were announced on Friday at the United Nations and exceeds the $3.2 billion which the three countries said they needed for the next 2 year projects to revamp their economy and health care facilities.
World Bank, African Development Bank, European Union and the United States were the major donours.
With this a total of $5.2 billion has been raised for recovery from Ebola outbreak for the three countries..
At the United Nations meeting held on Friday, Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf also appealed for the cancellation of $3.16 billion in foreign debt owed by the three countries of Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.
The Principal Co-ordinator of UNDP Ebola Response, Sunil Saigal says the goal is to get the 3 countries back on the growth trajectories they were on before Ebola virus outbreak.
