Given how infrequently Heather Noel and I disagree about the movies we talk about on the DVD Afternoon podcast, I was a little concerned that our lists of the 10 best films of the year would contain so much overlap that listening to us count them down would start to get a little bit tedious. Surprisingly, though, there were only two films that appeared on both of our lists—and Heather's number-one pick turned out to be a film that I haven't even seen. What can these mysterious movies possibly be? The only way to find out is to listen!But the unveiling of our end-of-the-year top 10 lists is just one component of this supersized episode, which runs nearly two hours and also contains our respective rundowns of our biggest DVD discoveries of 2010, as well as our usual report on the week's most notable DVD releases. You may want to break this podcast into a couple of pieces, actually, and listen to it in chunks... this is an awful lot of movie talk to digest in just one sitting. But with nearly 40 movies in all being recommended, we figure it should supply you with enough DVD rental suggestions to last you all the way to the end of 2011.
