I'm not sure if it's because I'm at the shop more, if I have my eyes open a bit more, if there has just been great stuff in stock or if it's more to do with how we're changing as a household, but I have bought so much stuff from the charity shop recently, and it's making the place far more pleasant. We've really got back to appreciating how important time at home is to us and so we're upping the cosiness and care.
I thought I'd share a few of my favourite purchases from this month.
A lovely vase. It's 40 cm/16 inches tall so nice and big, my manager said I looked like The Log Lady from Twin Peaks when I set off to carry it home. I took that as a compliment. The white table also came from the charity shop last year, it came from Habitat originally. The snowglobe was a gift and the lamp came from Baltic, Gateshead earlier in the year.
A pair of lithographs. I bought one, the one that's hanging, then discovered, after a bit of research, it was one of a pair. The second one emerged a few days later so I bought that too. That's not on the wall yet though, one thing at a time!
Finally, a very boring but useful thing.
A spotty notice board, this was brand new still in the wrapping and with its £7.99 price tag, I paid a couple of quid for it. I'd been planning to buy a wipe clean board, but I do still prefer a pen and paper so this should be ideal.
Spots, stripes and squiggles, a great combination!
